About Sheppards Accountants

Based in Plymouth, Devon, Sheppards Chartered Accountants are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Ian and Yvonne Sheppard are Directors and are both qualified accountants. Our technical staff, Martyn, Gail, Daniel and Vicki are all qualified Accounting Technicians.

Sheppards Chartered Accountants are registered auditors and we undertake both company audits and audits for specialised accounting areas such as charities, estate agents and insurance brokers.

Since 1992, Sheppards have worked with clients in the South West of England as well as throughout the UK, offering a full accountancy and taxation service that is personalised to our clients’ requirements and based on the most appropriate, cost effective, individual advice.

We provide coaching on how to set up and use various computerised accountancy packages (including Sage), and are also authorised to offer general investment consultations.

Ian Sheppard qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974 and has extensive business and financial accounting experience both in practice and from his involvement within commercial organisations.

Yvonne Sheppard qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1988 and has over 20 years experience in all areas of taxation including personal and corporate taxes and VAT.

Gail McManus is responsible for a broad range of work including preparation of financial accounts and tax returns for a wide range of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, and additionally Gail is involved in preparing payroll and VAT returns.

Vicki Brownrigg is AAT qualified and prepares payroll, VAT returns, personal tax returns, income and expenditure accounts and undertakes various administration duties.

Daniel Garland is responsible for a wide range of clients including limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and preparation and filing of self-assessment tax returns.

Rhianne McManus and Lynn Clark share responsibility for reception duties and are also proficient in payroll and can help with any other initial enquiries.
